Terms
Last updated 19 September 2026 · applies to Mileage: Business Trip Tracker for iOS
These are the terms for using Mileage: Business Trip Tracker. The app is made and published by Createful Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Downloading or using the app means you accept them.
Apple’s own Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to every app bought through the App Store. Where these terms and Apple’s say different things about the same point, Apple’s wins.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or over to buy Premium. If you use the app to record mileage that someone else reimburses, such as an employer, that is between you and them. Check what they require before you rely on the app for it.
What you get
You get a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are kept to. The app itself, its design and its code stay ours. You may not copy it, sell it, rent it, take it apart to work out how it is built, or try to get around the Premium checks, except so far as the law says you may do so regardless of what a contract states.
Free and Premium
The app is free to download and free to log every trip, with the running claim total, one vehicle, the Spreadsheet (CSV) export, the themes and the widget. Premium adds iCloud sync across your devices, more than one vehicle, and the Claim report (PDF).
Premium comes as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-off Lifetime purchase with nothing to renew. All three are shown in the app with the price in your own currency before you buy anything.
If Premium lapses, nothing you have logged is deleted. The extra features are locked rather than removed, and come back if you subscribe again or buy Lifetime.
Payment, renewals and cancelling
Everything you pay for is sold by Apple through the App Store. You pay Apple, not us.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Apple charges your account for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings, not in this app. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Premium is shareable through Apple’s Family Sharing, if you have it turned on.
Prices can change. Apple will tell you before a subscription renews at a new price, and you can cancel instead.
Refunds
Apple handles all billing and all refunds. We cannot issue one, because the money never comes to us in the first place. Ask Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page.
Your trips are yours
The trips, vehicles and rates you enter are yours. They stay on your device, and in your own iCloud account if you turn sync on. We have no copy and no way to read them, which is set out in full in the privacy policy.
Because we hold nothing, keeping it safe is down to your device backups and your iCloud account. Export a Claim report (PDF) or a Spreadsheet (CSV) whenever you want a copy you control.
The figures are yours to check
Mileage records the trips you enter and adds them up at the rate you set. It does not give tax advice and it is not a substitute for it.
The rate per mile, the currency, which trips count as business, and what you may actually claim are yours to get right. Rates set by a tax authority or an employer change from time to time, and the correct one for your situation is your responsibility, not the app’s. A claim report is a record of what you entered, not a ruling on what you are owed. If a claim matters, check the figures and the rules that apply to you, or ask an accountant.
What the app does not promise
The app records mileage. We cannot promise that a claim built from it will be accepted, or that it fits the rules of any particular country, employer or tax authority.
Syncing between devices depends on iCloud, which is Apple’s service and not ours. If it is slow, off or unavailable, the app keeps working on the device in front of you and catches up later.
We may change the app, add things or take things away, and we may stop publishing it. If we ever stop, the version on your device keeps working for as long as iOS supports it, and you can still get your data out as a Claim report (PDF) or a Spreadsheet (CSV).
Where you stand if something goes wrong
The app is provided as it is. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Beyond that, we are not liable for losses we could not reasonably have expected when you started using the app, including any tax, penalty or reimbursement you lose out on. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you have paid us for the app in the twelve months before the problem arose, which on the free plan is nothing. Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting the app, and cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings. We can end your licence if these terms are broken, for example by trying to get around the Premium checks. Deleting the app does not delete data already in your iCloud account, so use Delete all data in Settings first if you want it gone.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and anything material is noted in the app’s release notes. If you carry on using the app after a change, that is your acceptance of it. If you would rather not accept it, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, or in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live and can bring a claim there.
